Do I really have to have my modular builidng setting 36" high with a ramp?

We are frequently asked "do I really have to have my modular building door 3' above the existing grade?" Sometimes floodplain will mandate this, but commonly there are alternatives. An "above grade" set as the modular industry calls it, is common because it is easy to set up, and just place a ramp in front of the building exterior.

A quick easy way to have an ADA accessible installation of your modular building is to excavate & backfill the site. In many instances this fee is the same or less than keeping the modular building above grade. By using sidewalks, and landscape to finish the installation you have a great looking building that is accessible to all, and can be utilized as a permanent or semi-permanent facility.
